Lakewood & Florida

Comparing Lakewood and Florida.

In Florida residents start in Assisted Living move on to Life Support and end in the freezer.

In Lakewood its a mirror image, residents start in the freezer move on to life support and then assisted living.

Outfit overdone?

This past weekend, I had a date that was set up about 2 weeks ago as the i was traveling in from out of town and had to make travel arrangements. The unfortunate thing was that one cannot plan weather. Hence, I packed a few nice outfits as always, except I wasn't prepared for a snowstorm! I didn't have the proper winter accessories and was kinda hoping the guy would cancel for whatever winter snowstorm reason he could come up with from shoveling out his car to icy roads, etc.
But this was not to be. The only issue was that the house I was saying at was on a street that had no way to get down, sorta like a dead end with double parked cars. We made up to meet at a certain corner where he would pick me up. But that meant I would havta walk...in the snowstorm...with no proper winter accessories. So I did what any BY girl would do, I took my freshly blowdried hair and tucked it under my Abercrombie & Fitch hoodie which I wore on top of my clothes and under my jacket. I didn't have boots and was afraid my black suede heels would get killed in the snow so I wore my everyday flats. Yes. This is how I met the guy, with a hoodie and flats, if u know me, this is totally NOT my style but at the same time, u gotta manage and adapt to surroundings. If I would wear my black suede heels, I may have either slipped or walked like someone on eggshells and my hair, uncovered in the snow would puff out like a peacock's feathers in mating season.
Suffice it to say, I did mumble an apology as we got to the coffee shop and I quickly removed my hoodie. It didn't make a difference though as the guy said no. Or maybe he said no because of my outfit.
Who knows.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Isn't it weird walking around these past 2 weeks and seeing the red, pink, hearts, chocolates, perfume and flowers, everywhere? What about the romcoms that are playing almost every night leading up to the big day?
I mean, it's not exactly weird for me, this happens each year, and the stores all change their windows in honor of this one day. On the other hand, even though the "holiday" is meaningless, I can't help but sigh and think wouldn't it be nice to get chocolates from a boyfriend? What about a small card or cutesie gift, for no reason other than "just cuz"?
So ya, I feel like V-Day is just another reminder, or can I say small "pinch" to remind me that I'm single. I have no one (yet) to buy me a small chocolate rose, to give me a small card, a small note, I would even settle for a text message of 2 words, but I have to wait for it.
The best things in life take the longest time to get, right? You need to be 18 to be able to drive, drink, even 21 to be legal age, some places even 25 to rent a car when you're in vaca. Wine takes years to ferment into the best possible taste. Hoping that my hubby-to-be is ripened and ready for the pick.
In the meantime, enjoy ur V-Day chocolate hearts :)

Can't a Girl Enjoy her Chocolates?

Am I the only one passing by Godiva and other gift shops with that 'oh, if only I had someone to give chocolates to?' feeling? No, I don't keep valentine's day (duh! for starters, I'm single!) but I do love the chocolates and cute little stuffed animals. There are also some really great and funny valentine's cards. It would be cute just to get it for someone besides my friends, err...sisters.
Anyway, I saw this chocolate today and couldn't resist not posting it here:
p.s. it's not Kosher (so I couldn't even get it as a gag gift for my friends or sisters)
